Sometimes when it's sunny, you still need your umbrella

Today I had a great day .... at work.  You know the kind.  It all goes right, exactly the way you want it.  You look professional, you make complete sense, you get complimented on your work.  I love those days.  I feel like superwoman in a suit.  This was the day I was having, even after being stuck in traffic for 45 minutes, when it should have taken me 5 minutes.  With little movement, and drivers weaving in / out that were complete....well, you know what they were.  So even with that start to the day, I had a great day.

Had.

I told you though, that sometimes you need an umbrella.  That umbrella is usually to block the brown stuff that falls in torrents down on you.  You're having a great day, until the school calls you about "An Incident".  I won't get into the details.  They aren't important, actually, and it wasn't life threatening, and not something that I couldn't deal with.

The point is, it completely ruined that high that I was on.

How many times have we walked into work, carrying the weight of something at home, to bring us down?  Or had a great day at home, only to read that crappy e-mail that we SHOULD have left for the next day.  Of course I had to take the call from the school.  Of course.  But to the same effect as reading that e-mail.

The question that I pose to all of you is:
Which is more off-putting for you?  The incidents at work, that can completely rail-road your day / weekend / evening?  Or the incidents at home, that can just put you off completely, and force you to double fist down the chocolate bars?
